Does anyone actually like to play home games? I mean seriously???

I get so sickly bored when I am playing a home game... I mean it is nice to see friends and all, but people get all serious and I just start to get bored. I start to stare at the ceiling as if it was my best friend and I want to get out of there as quick as possible!

What are your views on home games?

Bart

I never seem to do well playing home games.  So basically I just go to them to have fun anymore.

I try and change my game up and try different things that I normally won't do.  Hopefully I'll figure something new out that will improve my overall game.

I bloody love home games. My friends are all terrible, but think they are good, so I just have fun, play well, and crush them. My ROI to date at home games is something like 180%. Plus I get to drink beer with my friends. Does it get any better?

I play in a $10 tournament every Friday night and love it.  Yea, it's slow but fun to play in.  A couple "new" guys have showed up lately with one being an Internet "pro".  I love killing him, he is probably the easiest to read.  Usually about 10-15 of us.

Most of the time poker wins out but the occasional drinking has overcome the poker some nights, that gets funny

I am with you on that Bart.  It seems to be exciting at the beginning of the game, but the game continues to get slower an slower through the night.  I know that one of the important things in poker is patience, but sometimes it is very hard to continue and be patient for 6- 8 hours at a time.

I think is why the online poker games have become so BIG.  Games move extremely fast, and if you lose all your money at one game you can be at another table within a minute playing again.

Thanks and Good Luck

I really like to play in small home games.  We have some around me that are 5 to 6 people so the money isnt great but it's a lot of fun.  If you are looking for a home game in your area there is a great website that has a ton of home games.  The site is http://poker.meetup.com

I like that Miller.

What a cool idea.  I see we don't have any games in my area yet, but I have the option to post game information in there if I would like.  This is a great way to get something started locally if you like the home game

I love home games! We have tournaments ranging from $5-$100. We play with family, friends, coworkers and anyone else who wants to play. We figure it'e good practice, lots of fun and we love trying to read each other. We are constantly trying to improve our game.

I LOVE home games, mostly because my n00b friends make me look good.
Oh, and let's not forget the beer.
